Dr. Yazbak Introduction of John Stone
It is a pleasure for me to introduce my good friend John Stone to VAP. John is a scholar, a political observer and a musicologist. In 1990, in The Mozart Compendium, he overturned the existing theory about Mozart's death. John's life was totally changed when his normal and oldest son Michael regressed into autism. He has been carefully watching the autism scene in London since 1999 and has extensively written about the MMR - autism controversy. His support of Dr. Andrew Wakefield is unwavering. John is a prolific writer who is a stickler for detail and accuracy. In 2004-2005 alone, he published over 400 letters on autism, vaccines and the politics of the health system in the rapid responses to the British Medical Journal. The three-part series on Thimerosal in the UK childhood vaccines now featured by VAP was originally published on Red Flags. To my knowledge, this is the only British comprehensive review of its kind. In an original work due soon, John will be criticizing a study by Andrews, et al, that was published in PEDIATRICS in 2005. Data from that study was presented at the February 9, 2004 special meeting of the IOM that decreed that a Thimerosal-autism link did not exist. John will explain why the committee was wrong.
