Dear Dr. Lucey,

The Vaccine Autoimmune Project (VAP) is being formed to fund independent research. We encourage and support clinical research into the link between MMR vaccination and regressive autism, an issue that has clearly been neglected in the United States.

We have published today an article by F. Edward Yazbak, MD. FAAP in which he describes a serious flaw he detected in a study by Fombonne et al that appeared in the July 2006 issue of PEDIATRICS.

We are disturbed by the fact that you chose not to publish a letter by Dr. Yazbak in which he questioned a specific point in the Fombonne study, namely relating PDD rates in a school board in Montreal to MMR vaccination rates in Quebec City.

On behalf of our supporters and the Autism community, I would like to ask you to formally request a clarification by Dr. Fombonne concerning that simple issue and to publish his response in the April issue of the journal.

Your attention to this matter will be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Barbara Labrecque
